KDSSF Fundraising

The Kansas Disc Sport Scholarship Foundation is a 501c3 tax-exempt organization.

KDSSF fundraising takes many forms:

  • The traditional means is through an annual tournament where players donate part of their entry fee toward the foundation. Half of the money raised is earmarked for the next year’s scholarship and the other half stays with the foundation as an endowment.
  • Oftentimes, businesses and individuals donate items to be used in a raffle or auction. The money raised, like the money from the tournament, is split 50/50 between the upcoming scholarship and the endowment.
  • Sometimes merchandise is donated to the foundation with the expressed intention of 100% of the funds generated to go to the endowment.
  • There are also instances where funds are donated with the expressed intention of 100% going straight to the upcoming scholarship amount.
  • People that have passed away have directed their loved ones to set up a memorial at their funeral where funds collected went to the foundation in the form of an endowment. Each memorial fund remains open for future cash donations by individuals or businesses.
  • The endowment portion of the KDSSF earns interest and 100% earned in a calendar year helps fund the next year’s scholarship.

How to donate:

  • Merchandise can be dropped off at Ducks Flying Discs in Wichita at any time of the year. These items should be earmarked on how you want them to be utilized. (Raffle item, auction item, or other)
  • Money can be sent to the KDSSF PayPal Account: president@kdssf.org When that is done and you wish it to be used in a certain manner or would like a letter of recognition for tax purposes a note should be included with the donation or emailed to president@kdssf.org
